It begins with a meeting of three trans women artists from the Philippines, South Africa and Ukraine. Their shared journey weaves personal herstories into a tale of love, desire and the power of community.
Within this experimental, camp aesthetic, humour and irony meet sincerity, challenging normative ideas of gender and femininity. Working with movement, voice, text and improvisation, the artists transform their experiences into a choreographic and musical narrative. The body becomes a political space and a means of reclaiming visibility and the right to tell one’s own story.
The protagonists seek neither acceptance nor rescue. Through performance, song and choreography, they create their own kingdom of visibility, where their voices can resonate loudly, boldly and on their own terms.
The performance invites reflection on the social and political dimensions of the body, trans visibility and the role of art as a means of dialogue and social change.
With poetry, boldness and sensitivity, we invite you to “Dream Girlz”. In memory of all the sisters we have lost, and all the dreams that could never come true.
The event will be filmed and photographed for promotional purposes.
Admission to the spectacle is free.
